Stock Market Update: NSE and BSE Closed for Muharram 2024

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) are closed today, Wednesday, July 17, for Muharram.

All trading is suspended for the stock, equity derivative, SLB, currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives segments, according to the BSE. Today, twenty-two companies, including Asian Paints Ltd, LTIMindtree Ltd, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd, and Elecon Engineering Company Ltd, will release their June quarter results.

According to the BSE calendar, Muharram is the tenth market holiday of 2024. The upcoming market holidays are Independence Day on Thursday, August 15; Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday, October 2; Diwali on Friday, November 1; Gurunanak Jayanti on Friday, November 15; and Christmas on Wednesday, December 25.

Will the Commodity Market Open Today?

The National Commodity Exchange (NCDEX) and the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be open for trading in the evening hours today. They will not be operational during the morning shift, which runs from 9:00 AM IST to 5:00 PM IST. Consequently, trading on the Indian commodity market will start again today at 5:00 PM IST.
